Difference between a person who takes out a mortgage and makes taubah and a person who didn't take out a mortgage at all
Question
If someone gets a mortgage for a house and then does taubah, he still benefits by keeping the property and also being forgiven.
How is this fair compared to someone who avoids doing so?
Answer
If he comes out of this and makes taubah and promises Allah Ta`ala that he will never do this again, Allah Ta`ala will definitely forgive him.
A person who avoided this totally, he is blessed by Allah Ta`ala. Imagine a person who broke his arm badly and treated it, and a person whose arm is strong and he did not break it. Obviously there will be a difference between them.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.

Where scholars differ, it’s safer to take the more cautious view.
