How long can a person stay away from his wife?

Question

Because of my job I have been transfered to another city. Since I am married, my wife is back home.

My question is how long can one stay away from his wife without craving any sexual intimacy with his wife? Like for how many days/months. What does Islam says about it? As I live far away from her so it will take time to go back home.

Answer

That is left to the individual. Some people require intimacy in short intervals. Others can manage sometimes up to a month or two months. It is also important to understand the sentiments and feelings of the wife.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
