Question

My daughter wants to get married to someone and she already has feelings for the boy.

1. Can we as parents make Istikhara for her as we feel the boy is not compatible for her.

2. If we do feel he is not compatible for her, what can we read for Allah Ta'alah to guide her and forget about this boy.

Answer

Yes, it is permissible.

If he is not a pious person and his ways are not right, then explain to her that marrying him will cause her deen to suffer and her relationship with Allah Ta‘ala to be affected.

When this happens, then the outcome of such a marriage is nothing but misery and grief.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
