Question

What is the ruling on a person who seeks forgiveness from Allah after committing zina publicly? Will their repentance be accepted by Allah, and will they still be subjected to the Shari’ah punishment despite repenting?

Answer

If they are sincere in their repentance, then Allah Ta‘ala will most certainly forgive them. If they conceal this crime and it is not established before the Qaazi in an Islamic country, then they will not receive hadd.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
