Question

1. Please state the Shari'ah ruling regarding reciting Quraan for a person who passed away before ghusal is given, when the person reading for the deceased:

1.1 is in the same room as the decased body.
1.2 is not in the same room as the decased body.

2. Please state the Shari'ah ruling regarding reciting Zikr for a person who passed away before ghusal is given, when the person reading for the deceased:

2.1 is in the same room as the decased body.
2.2 is not in the same room as the decased body.

Answer

1.1. It is permissible.

1.2. It is permissible.

2.1. It is permissible.

2.2. It is permissible.

Note : The above rulings apply to situations where there is no impurity that has come out from the body of the deceased. If any impurity has come out of the body of the deceased, then before the impurity is removed, the Quraan Majeed should not be recited near the body. However, the Quraan Majeed can be recited at some distance away from the body.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
