Reciting Aayat-Kareema as istighfaar or taubah

Question

Is Aayat Kareema istighfaar or taubah or both?

Answer

The wordings are of zikr and istighfaar, but if a person has the intention of taubah, then it will also be taubah. However, it is better for one to separately make istighfaar and taubah for the sins one has committed.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
