Is it permissible to use a suppository whilst fasting?

Question

Answer

Since the suppository is inserted into the anal passage, it will cause the fast to break.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.

ولو بالغ في الاستنجاء حتى بلغ موضع الحقنة فسد و هذا قلما يكون ولو كان فيورث داء عظيما اه

قال الشامي: (قوله: حتى بلغ موضع الحقنة) هي دواء يجعل في خريطة من أدم يقال لها المحقنة مغرب ثم في بعض النسخ المحقنة بالميم وهي أولى قال في الفتح و الحد الذي يتعلق بالوصول إليه الفساد قدر المحقنة اه أي قدر ما يصل إليه رأس المحقنة التي هي آلة الاحتقان و على الأول فالمراد الموضع الذي ينصب منه الداء إلى الأمعاء اه (رد المحتار 2/397)
