Question

I want to ask whether registering on matrimonial sites allowed in Islam or not? I am looking for a girl to get married to so is it ok if I look for girls on these matrimonial websites. Please guide.

Answer

We do not subscribe to this type of means, for there could be many complications that one could encounter in this method. For example, to know exactly who this person is, what’s her behaviour or what are her ways, values, mannerisms, beliefs etc. These are not easily understood through this type of means.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
