Question

A condition for applying for a firearm licence in South Africa is that one must submit 2 photographs wherein one may not be using any headgear ie. Hat, scarf, etc. My question is, due to this being a pre-condition for the firearm application, will it be permissible at all for a Muslim female to apply for a licence to own a firearm?

Answer

We advise that the female make it known to the authorities that this is not an optional thing but it is a compulsory requirement of her deen.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.

“This is not permissible. Through you building a social media app where users will post pictures of animate objects, you will be involved in the sin of photography as well as inviting others to commit this grave sin.”
