Breaking an Optional Fast
Question
Is it okay to break a nafl fast if your feeling sick?
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
It is permissible to break one’s nafl fast if one is feeling sick. However, one has to make qadha (make up) for the broken nafl fast.[1]
And Allah Ta‘ālā Knows Best.
