Listening to Tilaawat and Zikr through Earphones During Tawaaf
Question
Would it be permissible for a person to wear airpods/earphones and listen to Zikr and Tilaawat of Quraan while making Tawaaf? Is it something disliked?
Answer
We are required to engage in Zikrullah or Tilaawat during Tawaaf to attain maximum reward and benefit, hence we should be personally engaging in Tilaawat and reciting the various Azkaar and Duas. There is no prohibition from listening to the Quraan Sharif or Zikrullah during Tawaaf, but it is more superior to personally engage in acts of Ibaadah. Also, listening to recordings during Tawaaf has never been the way of Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam, the Sahaabah, or any of the pious predecessors. All fervently engaged in the worship of Allah with their hearts connected to Him. We should therefore follow the Sunnah and the way of the pious.
