Calculating zakaat
Question
I earn R3000 monthly. I just want to know how much should I give away as sadqah and zakaat?
Answer
Calculate the total amount of wealth you have at the end of your zakaatable year and if you have the nisaab of wealth on that day then you will discharge 2.5 percent of that in zakaat.
There is no restriction for sadaqah, You may do whatever is easy and manageable.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
