Forgetting to make sajda-e-sahw
Question
I forgot to perform sajdah sahw which was wajib upon me during the first 4 rakats of sunnah namaz. Then I started Fardh namaz and once I finished fardh namaz I realised that I forgot to perform sajdah sahw for sunnat namaz. Is it permissible to perform the missed sajdah sahw of the sunnat namaz after the fardh prayer?
Answer
No. The law of Shariah is that if one had forgotten to do the sajda sahw, then the salaah should be repeated as long as the time of the salaah remains. Once the time of the salaah passes, it will no longer be waajib to repeat the salaah. Hence, you needed to repeat your sunnat salaah after your fard salaah.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
