Question

I have a question regarding the consent of a wali in a hanfi nikah? I have done extensive research on the topic and in many instances it states that a wali is advisable but not entirely required in all circumstances. Can you clearify this for me?

Answer

Though in the Hanafi Mazhab, consent of the wali is not a requisite for the validity of the Nikaah, however it is extremely important.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
