Meaning and method of issuing Talaaq-e-Baain

Talaaq-e-Baain (irrevocable divorce) refers to where the husband divorces the wife with ambiguous word of talaaq with the intention of talaaq (e.g. go to your mother’s house). The Shar'ee ruling regarding this type of talaaq is that once the husband gives the wife a Talaaq-e-Baain, the husband cannot revoke the talaaq. If the man and woman wish to reconcile whether during the iddah or after the iddah period, a new nikaah will have to be performed with a separate mahr.
