Retracting after giving land as waqf

Question

According to Imaam Abu Hanifah (rahimahullah), a person can retract the waqf he made during his lifetime. If he retracts, is his wealth haraam?

Answer

The preferred view in the Hanafi Mazhab in regard to waqf is that once a land has been given as waqf, the waqf is binding and one cannot retract and take the land back.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
