Women attending functions

Question

We are encouraged to accept invitations for meals and not to reject it as it is a Sunnah to accept such invitations.

What about women? Should they accept such invitations and go with with their mahrams? Or women should avoid leaving their houses for this reason?

Answer

Where proper arrangements have been made for purdah and you are quite certain that all the rules of purdah are properly observed and you are quite certain that there wouldn't be anything that is reprehensible at the dawat, then it will be permissible.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
