Question

If a person owned a leather jacket and found out it was made from pig skin, can that jacket be sold to a non-Muslim and the funds be used to purchase another item?

Answer

A commodity that is haraam and impure, cannot be bought or sold. The better thing is to return it to the seller.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
