Grandparents taking photos of one's children

Question

Please advise me as to how one should stop his grandparents (who are constantly helping him out and who he sees at least three times a week out of necessity) from taking photographs of his child. I have been told that one is not supposed to make the islaah of one's elders/ parents etc.

Answer

Explain to them gently that you have greatest love and respect for them, but this is a shar`ee requirement. Therefore, you will not entertain this just as you will not entertain wine even if it is given to you by a senior.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.

Are photographs and taking pictures permissible?

“This is not permissible. Through you building a social media app where users will post pictures of animate objects, you will be involved in the sin of photography as well as inviting others to commit this grave sin.”
