Women specifying more than one room for i'tikaaf

Question

Can a woman demarcate more than one room for her sunnah I'tikaaf in her home?

Answer

Yes

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.

والمرأة تعتكف في مسجد بيتها إذا اعتكفت في مسجد بيتها فتلك البقعة في حقها كمسجد الجماعة في حق الرجل لا تخرج منه إلا لحاجة الإنسان كذا في شرح المبسوط للإمام السرخسي ... ولها أن تعتكف في غير موضع صلاتها من بيتها إذا اعتكفت فيه كذا في التبيين ولو لم يكن في بيتها مسجد تجعل موضعا منه مسجدا فتعتكف فيه كذا في الزاهدي (الفتاوى الهندية 1/211)

( وحرم عليه ) أي على المعتكف اعتكافا واجبا أما النفل فله الخروج لأنه منه له لا مبطل كما مر ( الخروج إلا لحاجة الإنسان ) طبيعية كبول وغائط وغسل لو احتلم ولا يمكنه الاغتسال في المسجد كذا في النهر (الدر المختار مع رد المحتار 2/444-445، الفتاوى الهندية 1/212)
